This is a little bit about me

and my journey solving puzzles

Me on me

It is never easy to describe yourself, so I will talk about what I do and why I do it, and leave the “how I am” to the experts...

I am a graphic designer, living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, yes, Edinburgh. Over the last few years, my career has been particularly focused on the UX/UI area due to its abundance of appealing possibilities. Even so, I keep exploring and digging into the whole design world, because as we know, inspiration can come from anywhere.

To me, design has always felt like a puzzle waiting for me to solve it, all wrapped up in a beautiful and captivating package. It is like a question that I need to find the best answer to, so it’s no wonder that I have become fascinated by what I call “the click moment”: that moment when you finally figure out the answer.

Graphics
When I started my career as a graphic designer, I wanted to try everything – and that's exactly what I did. I explored all areas of design, from printing to advertisement, passing through motion graphics and branding. As a starting point, it helped me to develop a wide range of abilities and enhance my knowledge of the available resources, shortcuts and possibilities. This soon led me to make some important choices.
UX / UI
The more I explored, the more I realised I was a problem solver. It is true to say that most areas of design, if not all, try to solve a problem, but the king of the kings at this would be UX. I couldn't resist embracing it as my new path in design. Understanding what, why and how drives me to solve the different puzzles.
Design is for others
Once I began to feel very comfortable with designing, it dawned on me that mastering the theory and tools will never be enough. To be a good designer, you need to truly understand others. It is very important to comprehend not only the needs of the user, but also the way in which their mind works – then come up with a solution that satisfies both.

design as a challenge, design for fun

Others on me

As I mentioned above, it’s no simple task to describe yourself,
so I thought that it would be interesting to ask others
what they would highlight about me:
Sara Padilla
Close Friend
I've known her since we were three years old and I can definitely say that she's grown into the happiest, most creative and most headstrong person I know. If you think about someone always striving towards being the best version of themselves, that would be her. Always on the go, her brain never stops, constantly thinking about different ways of bettering herself. Every day is a good opportunity to learn something new and she always takes that chance.

I know Maria not only professionally, but also personally. Maria is an ambitious, perfectionist and generous person. She always wants more: new methods, new forms, new tools, new ways of working. She seeks to make things better by taking care of the details and giving all 200% of herself. I would personally highlight her generous personality. She really knows how to work in a team, invariably becoming a key player. I feel very lucky to have her in my life, on both a personal and a professional level.

Everyday, Maria inspires me with her ability to turn everything in front of her into a chance to challenge herself. She is so determined, perseverant and eager to learn, she will consciously search for ways to improve some of her blind spots and grow, and she is brave enough to make a change even if it is hard. She constantly surprises me with her ability to create absolute wonders from small ideas through simple processes.

Given opportunity and time, Maria is one of the few people I know that could achieve whatever she wants. She is the perfect mix of passion, innovation, and determination, who undoubtably has a bright future ahead. The opportunity to work with such a person is rare, and in the year I got to work with her, these were the qualities that set her apart from everyone else. Maria is sincere in her engaging and genial attitude, something that inspires me more than anything else.
