Product Design – MEL Manager
MEL Manager

«Issue and revise Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs) with ease for your entire fleet. Automate the creation, revision and publication of compliant MELs.»
As a «private» product I can’t talk about the final solutions and the specific journeys, but I can talk about my experience, what I learned, and some of the challenges I found along the way.
Creating the MEL Manager has probably been the most challenging exercise I have had to make while working on TrustFlight. Some of the key points I had to face when thinking about this user journey were:
Hierarchy between documents, as the users sometimes have a master MEL to update the «MEL children», keeping the option while giving the capability of tailor the documents depending on the requirements and needs was a fun problem to solve.
Standardised structure, MEL tends to be very long documents with a well recognised structure that maintenance operators, aircraft crew and engineers are already used to. So it was key to reflect it in the design as well as having the capacity to move along the document in fast and useful way.
Priorities along the process
